While there are a lot of things I wish I knew heading into uni, there are also some things I’m glad I had no idea about. To know everything simply ruins the surprise, kills the fun some might say. But by the same token, to know absolutely nothing spells disaster.
We did an interesting exercise the other day that turned into an inadvertent social experiment. We went around to random students on campus asking them why they loved their course. The answers we received were somewhat surprising.
Motivation is an interesting thing. On the surface, its more or less the same for each individual: the desire to act. Dive into its core however and you’re hit with one of the most multi-faceted phenomena known to man.
Instead of tapping into the things we love and enjoy, we retreat to job prospects and careers in an attempt to answer the age-old question that every adult seems to ask you “What are you going to be when you grow up?”
